Manta rays feed at Hanifaru Bay, Baa Atoll, Maldives. The manta rays congregate in numbers up to 100, to filter feed on on the plankton carried into the bay by currents. British photographer Ed Brown was snorkelling at Hanifaru Bay in Baa Atoll when he came across 30 mantas gliding through the ocean, the majority following one behind the other. He said: The mantas had wingspans of approximately four metres and looked like underwater bats. Picture: Ed Brown/Rex Features

"Too close for comfort"!! Young male Sumatran tiger. There are believed to be fewer than 400 tigers remaining on the Indonesian Island of Sumatra, mainly due to vast deforestation which has led to encroachment into the tigers natural habitat. The deforestation still continues to this day…… A couple of shocking tiger facts for you…. 1.All the wild tigers on earth would fit onto one football picth 2.Even the whiskers of tigers are used in Chinese medicine as a cure for toothache…obviously they aren’t. Please visit www.bigcatphotography.org if you would like to see more of his big cat images.
