The Lamai wedge in Serengeti is a forgotten little paradise in the context of the migration. In August C4 went there to experience this wonderland and came back with eyes wide open.
It is an exceptional destination. Read more about the riches of Lamai here:

Babbin, one of a pair of short-beaked echidna puggles that were born at Perth Zoo, is cared for by a keeper. The puggles were born to four-year-old first-time mothers Mila and Chindi, both bred and born at Perth Zoo as part of its breeding programme. Environment Minister Bill Marmion said, Until now, it was believed female echidnas did not breed until the age of five so these latest births have shed new light on echidna reproduction. Only 24 echidnas have been bred in captivity in Australia.

Nature puts on a spectacular light show in a phenomenon called a fire rainbow. Brandon Rios’s father photographed the sky flickering with colour over Douglas, Arizona. Fire rainbows, or circumhorizon arcs, occur when cirrus clouds are far enough up in the air to form plate-shaped ice crystals. When the sun is at the right angle it hits the top of these plates and splits into different colours that are visible on the ground.

Hundreds of people line up to see a Titan Arum bloom in the Tropical Glasshouse at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne, Australia. Also known as a Corpse Flower due to its pungent ordour, the flower can stay dormant for one to three years and produce either one gigantic leaf up to 6m tall or a flower that can grow to just over 3m tall which dies after two days
